VCT and other resilient floors in offices, schools, stores, and kitchens are protected by a layer of floor finish, often called wax. Over time, foot traffic wears that finish down, and dirt gets trapped in the old layers. That's when floors start looking dull, scuffed, or yellow no matter how often they're mopped.
Stripping and waxing resets the floor. We apply a stripping solution and use a floor machine to remove the old finish down to the bare surface. Then the floor is rinsed and neutralized, and several thin coats of fresh finish go down, each one drying before the next. A final buff brings up the shine.
The result is a floor that looks brand new, is easier to keep clean, and is protected against scuffs and stains. It's also a good first impression for customers and visitors.
Most businesses need a full strip and wax once or twice a year, with periodic buffing or a scrub-and-recoat in between. High-traffic entrances and hallways may need attention more often.
Because the floor needs time to dry between coats, we schedule strip-and-wax jobs overnight or on weekends, so your business stays open as usual. We're available 24/7 across Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.
